The Gaming Room Model was a group project of sorts, while the room design and most of the models were made by me. The major models were split between 3 other students and myself to make designing a fully furnished room in 10 weeks easier. I created the computer case, TV and entertainment table, and desk models. My groups members created the computer monitors, mouse, gaming chair, lamp, foosball table, couch, headphones, cactus, and hexagonal shelves models. As well as developing all of the models and textures for the room, I also designed the day and night lighting options, including many RGB LED lights to establish the space.

Amongst the main models there are many detail models I created to fill the space and make it feel like a lived in room. There are video game cases all with different games on the covers, cup holders and a coffee cup, Pokémon figures in the shelves, soundproofing and many many more details.

The main major model I focused on was the computer case. Creating this model helped me learn and develop my skills a lot when it came to modeling and texturing, as well as learning about mesh lights. This model includes many details from USB and AUX ports, to hexagonal grating, and an emissive power button.

The other major models I worked on, the TV and entertainment table and the desk, had similar amounts of detail to the computer case, including screws, USB ports and more buttons.

While the lighting for the day time renders was set to be one big area light representing the sun shining in the window, an HDRI to make up some variation and portal lights in the windows, the night lighting was a lot more complex. I spent a lot of time playing with lighting from mesh lights to designs that the lights project. Each light comes from somewhere, the Nanoleaf lights are emissive and I made sure that each leaf is a different color. The light behind the TV is a USB light plugged into the TV with an image replacing the color setting, the same goes for a USB light plugged into the desk. Beyond that the mousepad is emissive and there are ceiling lights and LED strips to further light the space.
